Walking continued

Here is a quick video of Jonathan walking with the car toy. He is getting so fast with it. Although he has not repeated walking unassisted since the first time, but he is standing all by himself more and more. He is so cute. He sometimes forgets that he is not holding on. The funniest is when he falls down to a crawl position on purpose, so that he can chase Robert.

Cruising

Jonathan started walking around the train table, and it hasn't stay just there. He can do the corners on this toy table, and now pulls up on anything he can. He is getting braver and braver. I am scared how soon he will start walking.
Saturday, I had him standing without holding my hands. HE was kind of leaning on my legs, but not much. Soon he will figure out his balance and it will be game over. He will be running very soon after.
At least, he crawled first. So I am getting used to mobile Jonathan.

Disappear

This is Robert's version of Peek-A-Boo, he covers Jonathan with a blanket and shakes his finger and exclaims "Disappear". Then pulls the blanket off Jonathan, if Jonathan hasn't already done it. Jonathan thinks it is fun, and laughs and waits for Robert to repeat the game.
I am just so glad they like to play together and that Robert finds ways to play nicely with his brother. When Robert is done playing with Jonathan, he will go to the far side of the playroom and play with his big boy toys. (Not sure how much longer that will last now that Jonathan is crawling.)

Pacifier Stalker

Ariel has decided she likes pacifiers. While she liked Roberts, she seems to love Jonathan's. With Robert's, she would sneak into the nursery and find the ones under the crib. Now she cuddles up to Jonathan when he has a pacifier and trys to pull it out of his mouth, or knock it out of his hand. She is truly bold, since she will do it when I am holding him. Ariel ignores the pacifiers on tables that she can get on, she wants the one that Jonathan has.
At least she will let Jonathan grab her hair, or collar without fighting back. She will come back for more, even if we take the pacifier away.

Jonathan is 6 months

Jonathan is now 6 months, He is getting bigger by the day. He had is 6 month check-up and he now weights 19 lbs, 4 oz. and is 27 inch long.
Sitting up and playing with his toys is one of his favorite pastimes. He can do it for 20 mins at a time now. It is quite handy, I can set him up with some toys and then prep. dinner/clean up.

He also loves sitting in the high chair talking to you while you work in the kitchen, or watching Robert play with his toys. The boys still get along great and it is amazing how much they want to play together. Jonathan wants to join in on Robert and Daddy's wrestling matches. He gets very fussy when he is left out, but will stop when they do, or if they bring him into the game.

Push up Baby

Look at the picture closely, and you can see that Jonathan is doing a push up. He does these just before he pushes himself backwards. And yes is started in the middle of the blanket you see at the bottom of the picture.
He now loves tummy time, we start him out on the blanket, and scatter some toys around him. He really likes the toys that move. He got a Winnie the Pooh that crawls, and love it. He can be fussing and you start that crawling near him and he lights up.
I love this picture, he looks so big it in. He is 6 months today, and we are going to get his picture taking.

Teething

Jonathan is teething, which can be interesting. He drools all the time, and constantly is pulling your fingers into his mouth. He will even pull Robert's hand towards his mouth. We had to tell Robert not to let Jonathan chew on his hand. (I can't always be sure how clean they are.) But Jonathan is getting big enough to but the teething toy in his mouth all by himself. At least he gets some comfort from the teething toys and teething tablets. So far there is no sign of the teeth though.
I can't believe how much he can do now. He also sits ups, rolls both ways and is learning how to turn himself when he is on his tummy. Tonight when doing tummy time, he almost did a full 360.

Christmas Morning

Robert was so excited to come down the stairs and see what Santa had brought him.
Jonathan wasn't quite up, when Robert was ready to come down. So he got to wake up a little more laying on the couch while Robert checked out what Santa brought.
Just what he had been asking for, more Kitchen toys. Santa doesn't wrap gifts in our house, so it was fun to watch him move from one Santa gift to the next. We were up for a while before he actually openned a wrapped gift. He had to play with his Santa gifts first.
The boys also got each other gifts. Robert picked out this cute black and white dog for Jonathan. And Jonathan loves it. Robert wanted to get him a panda bear, but we could find one so he settled on a "panda Dog". We decided to call him Panda.

The wonder of Christmas so nice. Watching my Three year old get into Santa, and helping pick out gifts for others. Even Jonathan got into the gifts, mostly the wrapping paper. And he would let me put bows on his head, which Robert won't. (Robert would even remove them from Jonathan's head when he noticed them.)

Santa

I love the Daycare. This year during the Christmas party for Robert's class, and most of the center. Santa came to visit. (It was the owner all dressed up, so he knew all the kids names too)It took a little persuading to get Robert to go up to him. But he finally did, and couldn't stop smiling. He even told Santa what he wanted for Christmas, more Kitchen toys. (He loves to pretend to cook.)
After Santa visited all the classroom, he got a chair and had the kids come sit on his lap. The other owner was taking pictures of each child too for the parents that couldn't come. (I have two pictures so far, but still need the one of Robert alone that they took.)
I even got a chance to go get Jonathan and get a picture of both boys with Santa. I will tell you this Santa was definitely more attractive and nice looking than the one we get at the local mall. (I decided these pictures were so good, that I didn't need to see the mall Santa).
I didn't get a picture of Jonathan alone, but like I said the owners took a picture of Jonathan alone. Santa acually visited Jonathan's class room another day. And they took a picture then. I will have to scan it in, and share it too. Jonathan definitely was not afraid of Santa.

Snow in Beaumont, Texas

So in a rare event it snowed in Beaumont, TX. I
loved watching it snow last night, it was so peaceful. This morning, my husband woke up Robert to go play in the snow. He was very unsure of it. He did not want to walk in it at all. But once we started building a snowman, he was excited. We even took Jonathan out to see the snow.

My Big Boy

Jonathan had his four month check up yesterday. He is growing like a weed. He now weighs 16 lbs, 12 oz and is 26.5 inches long. He has gained 3 lbs 10 oz since his two month check-up. He is also sitting up unassisted for a couple of minutes and finally rolled over tummy to back last week. He talks and laughs all the time, and loves to "play" with big brother. Jonathan also eats cereal and sweet potatoes, and loves both. Now if he would just sleep through the night.

Thanksgiving at Grandma's

This year we when to my mother-in-laws house
for Thanksgiving, although we did Christmas as well since they live in North Carolina, and we live in Texas and my sister-in-law lives in CA.

Grandma has set up a playroom for Robert. He loves that Grandma has toys for him. This picture is in the play area. The fact both boys are at the table is pretty special. This table was my mother-in-law's when she was little, both her kids played at it, and now her grandbabies are playing at it.

Here is Robert helping make cut out cookies with Grandma. She got him Dinosaur cookie cutters. He has so much fun baking. He keeps asking me when we can make Dinosaur cookies. So I guess this year, our Christmas cookies are going to be more Dinosaur cookies than Christmas shapes.

Jonathan got his first taste of Thanksgiving foods,
baby style. I gave him baby sweet potatoes for the first time on Thanksgiving. He loves them. While he was eating them, he started to laugh that really fun deep belly laugh. It was nice to share that with my sister-in-law.

Halloween

This Halloween was fun. Robert really wanted to be a dinosaur and wanted Jonathan to be a baby dinosaur. It was fun finding a baby dinosaur costume. Not that Robert's was much easier. I had to call the party store and have them hold it. (It was the last one.)
Thankfully this Halloween wasn't as warm as past ones. After the sun went down, it was actually quite nice and Robert wasn't too hot in his costume. Jonathan actually stayed out the whole time too. He was too cute. He fell asleep about 15 minutes in the trick or treating and only woke up at the end.
